Bibliography Dr Irina Ermolina is Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Technology in the School of Pharmacy, De Montfort University. She originally trained as a Physicist (Kazan State University, Russia) then obtained her PhD in 1995 from the Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, based on a program of work using dielectric spectroscopy to investigate the properties of small globular proteins in solutions. Further she was involved in different projects studying the cancerous blood cells, liposomes with different enhancers for skin penetration, protein films on the base of bacteriorhodopsine (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel), application of electrokinetic methods for sub-microne bio-particle characterizations (University of Glasgow and University of Southampton, UK). Now Dr. Ermolina spesialises in pharmaceutical freeze-dried materials characterization using advanced characterization methods, including broadband impedance spectroscopy and time-domain dielectric spectroscopy.
